QUIRKS!

Yes, we all have them. Some are funny, some are cute and well, some can be downright annoying! The challenge this fortnight is to scrap a quirk or idiosyncrasy.

If you would like your layout displayed on the blog please email it along to me at bethroid@tpg.com.au or leave a link in the comments section. The new challenge will go up on Monday 5th May.

Here are a couple of layouts by our contributions team:

HAPPY SCRAPPING! :D

Is anyone else busy? Whoa! I feel like all I do all day is ’stuff’ and I don’t get the chance to sit down for a second! Everyday is just so jammed packed of things I have to do or places I have to take the kids! But that’s life I guess and we have to make the most of what we have!

Thankyou to the two entries which were emailed in from last fortnights challenge (has it really been a fortnight already?!) The layouts were gorgeous and will be great to look back on in years to come.

Here is a slide show of all the layouts which were created for this challenge.

This weeks challenge is coming a little late in the year but I think now that the rush of Christmas and New Years is over it is a good time to give this topic some thought.

GOALS AND RESOLUTIONS

This can be for this year or you may have some goals that span over a couple of years. I know finishing uni is a huge goal of mine, even if it will take me a couple more years to get there. I have a resolution this year to have no more ‘piles’ lying around the house. I tend to make piles instead of putting things in their rightful spots. So my resolution is no more piles! Here is the contributing teams take on the topic:

In order to be in the running to win a prize (yet to be decided) you need to complete your layout by midnight sunday 24 February 2008 and either email me the layout to bethroid@tpg.com.au or upload your layout and leave the link in the comments.

I am looking forward to seeing all the wonderful entries!

HAPPY SCRAPPING!!! :D

We are back and hoping this year will be even bigger and better than last year!!!

The first challenge of 2008 is to

SCRAP A CONVERSATION

You can spin this anyway you like. You could scrap a conversation that hasn’t even taken place if you wanted to. For example I would love to speak to my nan and tell her some things, but she has passed now so I can’t tell her all the things I want to, but this way I could get the things off my chest. If you are too scared to tell someone something, maybe you could scrap that. My daughter once drew a scene about her cleaning her room and receiving pocket money, the deal was if she kept her room clean she would get pocket money, I of course kept the drawing and want to use the conversation as a basis of a layout. Then you also have ‘She said; He said’ coversations too.

There are so many different ways you could scrap a conversation! Dont be limited to an actual conversation!

To be in the running to win a random draw prize, layouts are due by midnight Sunday 10th of February 2008. You can either email me the layout to bethroid@tpg.com.au or you can pop it on your blog or in a gallery and place a link in the comments or email me the link. I will also put all the layouts on a slideshow to showcase them!

And here are our example layouts:

Wow! That was a fast fortnight! I guess it went fast for me as I have been a little busy welcoming my new daughter into the world! All that aside, we have a great challenge this week!

UNCONDITIONAL

Yep, we want to see ‘unconditional’ themed layouts this week! This can be about anything really, your unconditional love for your kids, your love of chocolate, your child’s love of a teddy bear, whatever!

To be in the running to win a paper prize pack, just get your layouts to me by midnight saturday, November 24th 2007. You can email the layout to me at bethroid@tpg.com.au or leave a link in the comments to your layout.

Thanks girls for your continual support of the Journal It blog! It was certainly an honour to name you 5 gals as regular contributors! Thanks once again!

Now, you have seen mine and Vita’s takes on challenge #5 already, so here are the other girls!

Kath’s take on the challenge:

Nic’s take on it:

And Emily’s take on challenge #5:

Have you checked out challenge #5 yet? It is really easy this week! Just scrap a layout with 3 journaling spots!

Happy scrappin’!!! :D

First off, I would love to welcome some people as contributors to the Journal It Challenge Blog!

Vita Thai

Kath Boon

Nic Pomeroy

Emily Pearce

and

Tania Davey!

But stayed tuned because as the blog gets bigger and more people enter the challenges, I would love to appoint more people as regular contributors!

Ok, so I am posting this challenge a day early, just in case I am not around tomorrow to post it. Well, I hope I am not around tomorrow as it will mean I am in hospital having a baby!

So, onto the details!

Well, this fortnight we thought we would do something a little bit different. We thought we would set a technique challenge!

Your challenge is to create a layout with three journaling spots. (And no, your ’spots’ dont have to be round! LOL!)

Here is my take on the challenge:

And here is Vita’s take on the challenge:

I cannot wait to see the layouts that everyone comes up with this fortnight! Layouts are due by midnight 10 November 2007 and you can email them to me at bethroid@tpg.com.au or leave a link in the comments!

Also, have you checked out Challenge #4? You still have till tomorrow midnight to enter to be in the running to win a paper pack!

HAPPY SCRAPPING!!!!! :D

Ok, so I find it easy to pick random winner than what I do to choose between the layouts. The fact is, I love all the layouts. Each layout means something to the creator and who am I to decide if one is better than another? So I have decided that from now on, I will just make a random draw.

And the winner is…..

EMILY! And the prize this fortnight is a pack of Rebekka Erickson Boxboard Alphabet and a Technique folder.

Thanks so much to Melissa at www.scrapworld.com.au for her generous donation and support of this challenge blog, and not to mention the gorgeous model Luke. And now I am off to cut and clean his fingernails. EEP!

But before I go, have you checked out Challenge #4? I can’t wait till the layouts start rolling in for this one! Also, dont forget that I am looking for regular contributors to the blog and challenge 4 is the last chance to get your name into the draw! So, if you have a passion for journaling and keeping the memories alive, get you entries in!!!!!

HAPPY SCRAPPING! :D
